It works but doesn't polish

The good things first:* It keeps the stars mostly stationary (it works).* Relatively cheap. Everything Else:* The biggest problem is that it replaces the RA fine tune knob. You cannot use the fine tuning knob and the motor at the same time. It would be nice if the pan controls moved at an acceptable speed, but they don't - they move exceptionally slowly, even at 8x zoom. My scope is probably a bit heavy; If it wasn't well balanced the motors wouldn't be able to turn it at all.* The Dec motor…

Pretty disappointing

This kit requires you to disconnect (or at least disable) the RA cable, meaning you can fine-tune your ascent with just one motor. That would be fine, except even at 8x speed the motor revs too slowly to be useful. Every detail of this kit is made from the cheapest materials available without thinking about quality. Exposed circuit boards, messy cable routing, cables that can't be swapped out, the battery is inexplicably disconnected from the controller causing even more cables to be hanging…

I first bought these motors so I could use my CG-4 to track planets hands-free. What I didn't expect was the excellent planetary imaging he could help with. If you're looking for an AP entry featuring planets and the moon, look no further. The motors are very easy to install, giving you more time. looking for your favorite objects. I purchased 4 Tenergy Centura D rechargeable batteries to power the setup which last many days before needing to be recharged. The Dec and RA motors are mounted on…
