This kit requires you to disconnect (or at least disable) the RA cable, meaning you can fine-tune your ascent with just one motor. Finally, it also doesn't track stars unless you hold down the track button, so it's not particularly useful for exposures over 10 seconds or so - or even for visual astronomy if you just want to sit for a few seconds. Protocol. The whole ensemble looks more like a bored hobbyist's weekend project than an OEM adapter. The only positive thing is that it really works and is really easy to install despite its looks. I highly recommend saving money and using it to purchase the Star Adventurer if prices ever drop to reasonable levels.
