Great product Amazing price

Bought to line my forge. After a lot of searching trying to find a good deal with the amount I needed I found this. Amazing price fast shipping plenty left over for relining the large 3 burner forge I built. Combined with some kaowool ridgidizer, and a good refractory, which is 100% essential, I would definitely buy again.

Pros
  • Exactly what I expected.
Cons
  • Potentially dangerous if not installed correctly, as gaps or improper coverage can lead to risks of fire or other hazards

Excellent insulation for added protection

For any heat application. You can lay this on a pot of molten metal and it wont burn. Excellent insulation for added protection on wood stove or pellet stove installations,

Pros
  • This insulation is very good is everything I wanted it to be for forging
Cons
  • Not suitable for use in areas with constant exposure to moisture, as the fibers may become wet and lose their insulating properties

Could have been sealed for customer safety.

I'm sure it's going to work well but you would think that for a product which is a known carcinogent that it would be wrapped in plastic. Instead it was just rolled and put in a cardboard box. Quite alarming.

Pros
  • Everything is good
Cons
  • Environmentally unfriendly due to the production process, as ceramic fibers require high temperatures and significant energy consumption

No freight feels good lol. I will update this review when I .

I will be using this for a forge I'm currently still working on, I also was lucky and live near a warehouse where they stock this product I did a local pickup. No freight feels good lol.I will update this review when I finish the install/sealing and fire it up, but so far cutting was easy with a long sharp thin blade and it went in my small forge without any issues.Make sure you are well protected when using this material, use a gas mask and gloves. Clean up after you are done, vacuum up…

Pros
  • Great replacement insulation for our vintage Wedgewood stove.
Cons
  • Limited applications, as it is only suitable for specific uses, such as wood stoves, pizza ovens, kilns, and forges

Ideal for a homemade forge

I was planning a forge build using an old wood stove and the available smaller quantities of Kaowool were inadequate to complete the project. I also figured that if this experiment didn't quite work out, I'd have more than enough left over for a second forge build using a different method. Much more cost effective buying in this quantity and more flexibility in sizing the pieces as needed. Cuts easily and square with just a box knife. I opened up the cuts for a second and third pass to get…

Pros
  • Great for Raku kiln construction, thick enough to strip to half thickness for floor and cover of kiln.
Cons
  • May need to be replaced frequently due to wear and tear, leading to additional costs and labor

Great for a Raku kiln.

This is perfect for a lightweight Raku kiln. The order arrived even sooner than promised, was well packaged, and the quality of the insulation itself is great. It appears to be very uniform in density. Can’t wait to use it!

Pros
  • Worked great! I have extra now for future projects! fast delivery!!
Cons
  • Can be difficult and messy to install, requiring protective gear and careful handling to avoid irritating skin, eyes, or lungs
