I was planning a forge build using an old wood stove and the available smaller quantities of Kaowool were inadequate to complete the project. I also figured that if this experiment didn't quite work out, I'd have more than enough left over for a second forge build using a different method. Much more cost effective buying in this quantity and more flexibility in sizing the pieces as needed. Cuts easily and square with just a box knife. I opened up the cuts for a second and third pass to get through the full 2" thickness. Does a great job insulating the forge and after an hour of running I could still touch the side of the stove with a bare hand. I also used rigidizer to ensure the blanket stays in one piece an that seems to be doing the trick. See video for this item in action.
