Works alright. best in my review

I uses this to monitor the heat for a silver braze installation on a rifle. The stick worked as advertised, but the stick left a very bad residue behind. After I used aggressive cleaners it came off, but I believe heating it to 1500-1600 Fahrenheit caused it to turn into a mess.

  • I used this to test the skin temperature of rifle brass for annealing it. It fit the bill perfectly.

  • Poor quality, didn't even work, arrived broken

Crayon was broken, holder was in perfect shape.

The marker will last me a long time as little as I will use it. But had I been in the line of work where I used this daily I would have been upset. The case is just fine, but the crayon is broken into short pieces that will waste most of it.

These are terrible on my review.

They break every time. Terrible quality. I ordered 5 for my guys and could not use a single stick. Only tiny pieces. Test, Measure & Inspect!

Mostly helps for my opinion

I'm trying determine the temp of some brass that I am annealing. In theroy I get no melt at all below the specified temp. The brass pieces are smallish, so I get very little melt, but any melt tells me it's there. So over all I think it is indicating as needed. Overall it is the best method I have found yet. I will continue to use.

Markal Thermomelt Temperature Indicator Stick

Works as described. I use this as a temp indicator on 30-30 brass. I now can anneal my brass when needed and know it is done at the right temp. It is less expensive that other products so it fits my budget better.Thanks Walmart and thanks Markal.
