This was a refurbished item at a reasonable price. Bought as a birthday present for my wife as she is a photographer. She says the picture was good, the stabilization was good, but maybe because it was being restored the autofocus didn't work properly. Unfortunately we had to send it back.

I have never been able to focus sharply with this lens. Tried a few days. It was refurbished by Nikon themselves so I thought it was like new. My d5600 doesn't have fine autofocus in the camera, so I couldn't compensate for the front or rear focus shift of the lens and had to reset it. I ended up buying a brand new Tamron lens which focuses great for a few bucks less (on Tamron and Sigma lenses you can adjust the focus on the lens itself with a USB adapter).

This lens combines the focal length of my other two Nikkor lenses so I don't have to carry an extra lens around. I can't even tell what parts have been replaced as the lens looks almost new. I got it a few days ago and just needed a quick trip to one of our local state parks and the Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery. This little lady was hanging out just outside the main gate before you hit the North Platte River. As you can see, the lens works very well.
