God. how can it be so slow I inserted an SDHC card into this card reader, which is said to support read speeds of up to 95 MB/s. When I use the same SDHC card in an old card reader I bought a year or two ago I get 21MB/s. With this card reader I get 1.2 MB/s! What is the point of making such a slow USB 3.0 card reader?

Works great. Reads and writes without problems. I made the mistake of putting the SD in when the mic was already in and it pushed the mic into the case. Be careful with that. I had to break mine to get a more expensive mic. There was really no reason to have two at the same time. I just showed it to someone. This is still a great product for the price and I will likely order more.

I found this price for a CFast 2.0 card reader too good to be true. and I was right. Cards no longer read after 3 uses. I saw an email on the back of the product saying they would repair or replace any item so I was optimistic about fixing it but the email was invalid and didn't work. I received a Rocketek DOD Military USB CAC smart card reader yesterday. I already have the DOD PKI and ActiveClient 7.0 package installed on my Windows 10 laptop, but I was curious if this reader would work without installing custom drivers. I plugged it in, ActiveClient recognized it immediately and read my DOD smart card on the first try! Very impressive. So the good news about this device is that it works as both a smart card reader and a memory card reader. I'm not sure if you can use it for both at the same time (as shown in the pictures) but at least individually it works. I was able to use it with macOS 10.12 (Sierra) on my MacBooks with forge.mil's Cackey software without any problems by following instructions from militarycac.com. This worked great even though the Rocketek is a bit chunky. I love that it has a built in LED that lights up when you plug it into a USB port. I needed something similar to convert my camera's memory card to the USB port adapter needed for my computer. My old HP computer had a port that you could plug a camera memory card into.
