Soft but the heel area digs into the ankle area

The sandals are easy to put on and take off and it is nice that they are adjustable. However, the area around the ankle is a little tight and uncomfortable. Both boys in my family thought so, and I, my mother, thought so too, although the sandals are not my size and my feet are narrower than hers. Too bad, because otherwise they seemed nice and soft/comfortable!

Pros
  • Does not cause blistering or irritation
Cons
  • Sandals may not be suitable for those with balance disorders.

Difficult to set up best in my review

I have a pair of Teva sandals, comfortable and durable. Thought I'd try Chocos as I couldn't find any Tevas I liked. These sandals fit, but I will not buy them again. Pretty difficult to adjust and the ankle strap is too long and drags on the floor.

Pros
  • Soft rubber outsole for cushioning
Cons
  • Sandals may not be suitable for long distances.

Not like my last pair

Unlike previous chacos, the straps on these are loose and tighten on my big toe with every step and become unwearable after 10 minutes. You will be returned.

Pros
  • I love these shoes. Really smooth process from searching to buying and receiving. Great experience from start to finish!
Cons
  • May not be suitable for people with plantar fasciitis.

How to wear platform weights on your feet

I was looking for something to walk in, now I wear Xero sandals but wanted to try these chacos because they are really good for walking. Nothing is further from the truth. On the plus side, the harness design is brilliant! Unfortunately, this plus is overshadowed by a VERY heavy and thick sole. These pieces appear to weigh a few pounds and the height of the heel makes them look like high heels. It's good that the strap is so strong, otherwise you could never lift the boot to take a step…

Pros
  • Great brand and worth every penny
Cons
  • Straps can be difficult to adjust

Item is not new and is being sold as new.

I am disappointed because the sandals were worn and most likely returned by a previous buyer and then sold to me as new. The sandals have obvious dirt stains as seen in the photos and I don't have time to return them and order new ones because I will be traveling :(

Pros
  • Constructed from high quality materials for strength and durability
Cons
  • May not be suitable for people with arthritis

Don't waste your time.

First, they are HEAVY. The straps are uncomfortable and tight. I don't have big feet and my thumb can barely fit in the strap. There are way better sandal options than these. I returned immediately.

Pros
  • The arch is too high and the straps tighten as you walk, making them too tight and requiring constant adjustment.
Cons
  • BASE STRAP TENSION WHILE MOVING

I hate the choke strap on my big toe

Who was the marketing genius that said we have the best selling sandals, very popular, very reliable and durable, people love them... I know let's add a strap and choke her big toe! And which body approved this brilliant idea? Waste of $95. I hate it when my thumb chokes. Very uncomfortable! I like my Z1 chacos but not the Z2 with the big toe choke strap. I've tried and tried but I just can't wear them. They found the house at the bottom of the closet. Unfortunately almost $100 was spent.

Pros
  • Quick drying fabric ideal for water sports.
Cons
  • Sandals may not be appropriate for those with high arches.

STRAP SHOT in my review

One of my straps on my new sandal is stuck. I did a little research and found that this is common with used sandals and if you soak them in fabric softener and a water solution the strap usually comes loose. I went to the store, bought some fabric softener, made a 50/50 mix and soaked it for about half an hour. I then tried to pull the straps and they didn't move. I made it even wetter and pulled the strap while it was in the water and still nothing. It got to the point where I felt like the…

Pros
  • Really good support, just increase the size if you have long fingers like me.
Cons
  • The price may be too high for some

5 year review; eventually killed her

I have worn them many times and for about 5 years. Comfortable and durable shoes - BUT I did most of my research in the coastal areas of PNW and they ended up getting so much sand in the sole when walking on beaches and in tide pools, sand trails etc. From adjusting the straps to to constantly pinching the straps and trying to adjust them, they tore through the top of the insole causing them to break. There were easily 3-4 tablespoons of sand in the sole, dried mud, and sand that jammed the…

Pros
  • The sandals look great and draw a lot of looks when I wear them.
Cons
  • May not be suitable for people with diabetes

comfortable and durable

Love these sandals, the toe strap takes a little getting used to but it holds the foot very well, feels solid. A little heavy

Pros
  • Perfect fit and comfort. Not my first pair and perfect as always
Cons
  • Sandals can easily slip off your feet

Great ....! good for me

Bought for a trip to Costa Rica. absolutely love her. No issues with toe straps or chafing. Super comfortable with great support. My wife also bought a pair, no complaints from her either.

Pros
  • Durable and reliable
Cons
  • Sandals may not be suitable for people with back injuries.

Depends on what you like.

Bought for my son he hates the adjustment and the toe straps. I think they are great for outdoor activities; supportive, flexible, comfortable.

Pros
  • Easily disassembled for recycling
Cons
  • Sandals may not be suitable for business meetings.

Great sandals, just need a non-slip strap.

Great pair of sandals. I just didn't want to have to adjust the straps every day. It leaves a pathetic tan where the straps cover.

Pros
  • The sandals are true to size. I wear 11.5 and the shoes were too small. Needed a larger size, sent back next day.
Cons
  • Too heavy and lazy.

Using an arch brace can cause chafing.

Arch support isn't an improvement, the old flat Z1 was much more comfortable and the outsole was of better quality. This will not be my "GO TO" for hiking or kayaking. But fulfill the purpose with gardening. Too bad Chaco had a good run.

Pros
  • Suitable for people with flat feet or high arches
Cons
  • Sandals may not be suitable for people who have had knee surgery.

The best I've ever had

These sandals stick to my feet no matter how treacherous the path may seem. They provide the most durable foundation of any sandals I've worn. No more Teva for me!

Pros
  • I usually wear a size 11, but a size 10 fits me.
Cons
  • May not provide enough ankle support for some

Beware of unusual foot shapes

For those considering buying these sandals if you have unusually shaped feet, it might be worth looking elsewhere. I have wide feet and I bought wide chacos. Somewhere they were wider, somewhere not compared to narrow ones. They have very limited customization so the range of legs they can fit is narrower. And the saddest thing is finding out if they fit you or not, you have to wear them and once you put them on you can't get them back.

Pros
  • Great replacement for regular shoes.
Cons
  • Sandals may not be suitable for those with balance disorders.

The most uncomfortable sandals I've ever tried

I know chacos are popular so I decided to try a few. I'm glad I tried them and was able to return them as they turned out to be the most uncomfortable athletic sandals I've ever worn. Getting them on with a single strap that wraps around the toe was awkward and difficult. One day the fit turned out to be wrong (the insole was too short for her size) and the strap pushed the crap out of my feet even after I adjusted it. The strap around the toe struck me as odd. The insole was hard and didn't…

Pros
  • Comfortable to use all day
Cons
  • Sandals may not be appropriate for graduation

Heavy but good support

If you like arch support, this particular Chaco is pretty decent - not crazy, but solid enough. It's not a style of sandal that I'm very familiar with, but other than being a bit stiff and definitely heavy, it did its job perfectly. Perhaps the weight is also a result of this sandal style.

Pros
  • These sandals are pair #2. They are very comfortable and lightweight. I also love the tan lines they create!
Cons
  • Straps can rub against the skin and cause irritation.

Revainrating 2 out of 5

bulky and not suitable for riding

I must have tried on 30 pairs of sandals. I really wanted to like them but unfortunately they are very difficult to put on and the heel is a bit narrow. It takes me a while to get used to comfortably adjusting the straps, but no matter what I do, my sensitive feet just won't let me own these.

Pros
  • Excellent grip on any surface
Cons
  • Sandals may not be suitable for people with flat feet.

Bad new design: my review

The loop around the front toe is terrible. Times like crazy at every step. No adjustment will fix it. I'll throw her out if I don't come back.

Pros
  • Easy to put on and take off
Cons
  • Sandals may not be suitable for people with foot problems.
