Great product for the price

Great product for the price. Breaks and rivets without complaints. You can pay a lot more to do the same tasks. (Note - as with all chain breaks - best results if you grind the rivet heads before breaking the link)

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

n/a well suited for tools and equipment

all metals will bend/break/deform under aggressive stress. Directions would be fine but the lack of directions makes it difficult. I've tried using a metal handle for turning when riveting, but it doesn't work. Make sure you use a wrench when riveting or you will bend the shank and won't get very far.

Pros
  • very good value for money
Cons
  • faulty

A cheap chain breaker/riveter that has worked great for me.

Needed a replacement chain and sprocket set for my Triumph Speed Triple, ordered this to help me look after this maintenance item. Worked great. Ground the rivet heads on one of the links, pull out the rivet pins with this tool, and then rivet the new main link. super easy. Great tool. I can only imagine that this tool will break if I use it incorrectly.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Negative impression

Broke on first use

I work on bikes all day, every day. I feel safe using cheaper tools for certain things because I'm careful, meticulous and understand how they work. This kit is complete junk. With a 520 chain, the chain press rod broke within seconds, and the riveting tool kept getting stuck in the press. The switch pin was bent on a beveled rivet. All of this was on first use. I wasn't expecting much from this kit, but the fact that every part failed on first use was quite telling.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Some problems

Can confirm it breaks on first run

But I give it 2 stars because I was able to complete the job. 2 pieces broken - hit to push out the pins. Broken off about 4mm. I sharpened the tip and it could be used a second time. The plate with two holes broke when I dropped it on the floor! HAHAHA. It is strange. Part of the stylus broke off - I was still able to use it, but I had to make sure the part was aligned with a third hand. I recommend this tool with caution. Don't expect to use it twice - LOL!

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Unsuitable due to poorly machined part; the other part is broken

This chain riveting tool resembles a clamp. The clamping screw holds the tool in place. It is hollow and another screw is screwed into it, which pushes out a pin and knocks out the pin of the main link of the old chain. The internal screw on the device I received was so poorly machined that the threads didn't engage enough to withstand the pressure when I tried to push the pin out. I was able to knock the chain link bolt out of the parts basket with a bolt. Then when the new main tab was…

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Weight

It works but I damaged the tip of the rivet tool.

I used these chain breaker/rivet pliers to replace the original #520 chain on my Kawasaki Ninja 500 after ten years and 26500 miles. I first used an angle grinder to remove the original rivet heads before knocking them out with a rivet tool. I then used the tip of a rivet tool to flare the new rivets. However, the tip of the riveting tool was damaged in the process, although I was careful with the force. The instructions say that the pressure plate can be used in place of the riveting tool tip.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
