Great tool at a great price

This is the second AC35 my company has bought. The first is about 2 years old and still going strong I hope it is the same quality as our other one We have used them to drill 1 1/16" diameter holes in 1 1/4" mild steel to a 1/2 1/4" hole in 1/4" thick steel plate. Both paid for themselves right away in terms of the time it took to drill holes compared to the regular 1/2" drill bits we own.

Pros
  • 1-3/8" diameter, 2" deep, 6-1/2" vertical stroke
Cons
  • Can't remember

This drill has a quick change chuck that does not lock well, constantly slips on the cutter and I causes problems. I sent it back once and the second drill was junk too. I have been using magnetic drills professionally in structural steel fabrication for 25 years and have never had the same problems as with this drill. It has failed me at 2 different jobs and cost me money and downtime.

Pros
  • . Shipbuilding, refineries, welding etc.
Cons
  • Short instructions

Excellent representative of the Midwest! in power tools

Supplied in case intact but sliding locking knob/screw (5 x 15mm thread with plastic knob) bent 45 degrees. "I was having trouble finding a replacement until I contacted a MidWest representative in Kansas City. While not involved in these Revain sales, he was quick to send me a free replacement bolt, catalogs, and a local contact for any questions, supplies, or warranty work. It's so nice to find someone willing to cut through the red tape for a client! The block is of solid construction…

Pros
  • Cuts ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Convenient cooling and fewer refills compared to Dorntank
Cons
  • Very expensive
