Swiss Army Knife USB-C Docks

Literally one dock to rule them all! So far I've used this for USB ports, Micro SD cards, HDMI and Ethernet ports. I love that this docking station can do it all. I've traveled so many times and came to a client that didn't have HDMI only VGA and I got stuck and couldn't project to the screen. This MEGA adapter also has audio output and power pass-through. It can literally be used as a docking station for your laptop, which is pretty cool if you want to use it as a second monitor with a keyboard and mouse, there are plenty of ports for that.

Pros & cons

  • Pleasant
  • Difficult to say

Great hub! fits computers and accessories

I've had this hub for a month now and haven't had any problems. The previous hub I tried had issues with the card reader, but this one works every time. I like the number of connections as I use most of them regularly and I can only connect one device to my computer's USB-C port. I really wanted one with an ethernet connection (since my wifi is unreliable and I teach from home). Also HDMI for external monitor. And USB for keyboard, webcam and external hard drive. The SD card reader was also important. I have a few extra connections. The cable isn't too long, but longer than others I've had. I don't need an extension cord with it and I put my laptop on a stand and the hub is on the table.

Pros & cons

  • Excellent overall performance
  • Minor issues

Works great with laptop stand

I've been searching and choosing for a few days so I don't make a mistake when buying a USB-C docking station. The most important were: a headphone jack, three USB 2.0 ports and not having to buy a docking station that was several years old. The appeal of the purchase was in the laptop stand - the same silver color as the dock AND my new MacBookPro. The docking station and stand arrived the same day. I was very surprised to see that the dock is the same size as my phone, so it fits - discreetly - into the stand, even with the cables sticking out in all directions. I learned how to attach pigtails to hard-to-reach audio equipment from a karaoke DJ and applied it to this situation. Simply flip down your laptop's screen to view your USB drive connections. The dock's temperature is the same as the laptop and stand - cool, but I don't use an external display. Alpha and Omega: This was the first dock I looked at and it's the one that won the shootout. what about this price As if the booth…

Makes life easier with connectivity

This product works great with my 27 inch imac. All ports on my Imac are at the back and hard to reach. That makes it nice and clean, but when you're trying to plug in a flash drive or memory card from your camera, it's very inconvenient. Using this hub allows me to have all the connections in advance. It has 13 ports, which is more than I think I'll ever need, but it's always better to have and not need than to need and not have. It has 3 USB 2.0 ports, 2 USB 3.0 ports and 2 USB C ports. So add as many flash drives as you want and you're good to go. There is also a slot for memory cards and mini SD, which is very convenient. It features a 3.5mm audio jack for connecting wired headphones. This is really good as placement on the imac is awkward. In general, it looks nice and feels comfortable. I really recommend it if your current connections are impractical or if you just need to connect a lot of things. Recommend a hub and I've posted a video if you'd like to check it out.

Remove product line until support is provided

I have had 2 issues with this unit. 1 video and 1 audio. (see below) When trying to find support for this device I was shocked to find that there was none. No company contact information is included in the documentation provided with the product. I went online and looked for support information for UPGROW and found nothing. I went to Revain's UPGROW page and there is no support information there. I contacted Revain customer service and they were unable to help me. I am returning the product. Here are my 2 issues with the product: Video - As described, it supports both standard VGA and HDMI in VGA mode. The product I received could do both, but not at the same time. Whenever a monitor was connected to the VGA port, the HDMI port lost its backwards compatibility. Audio - Whenever the hub was plugged in, my laptop's speakers would automatically turn off, even if nothing was plugged into the hub's audio-out jack. To this day I don't know if my device was defective or if it was designed…

This is a Port Replicator/Dock/USB Hub - does its job well

This USB C hub is actually a mini dock. You just plug it in and just plug in all your desktop devices like keyboard, mouse, printer, monitor, network etc. The SD card reader and audio jack are good but I haven't used them yet. Since I can plug it into power, I only have to connect one cable to my laptop when I'm at my desk, which I really appreciate. If you plan to do this, make sure you connect the power supply to the power source marked for it. Your laptop won't charge if you plug the power into a different USB-C port (I've made this mistake a few times because I didn't realize they were different). It feels solid and nothing comes cheap. My only two nitpicks: * I would have preferred the angled USB connector for connecting to a computer. This makes it easier for me to keep it behind my laptop and out of sight. * Please mark the USB-C connector for power delivery more clearly. Until I realized there was a difference, my laptop died and I didn't understand what was going on. It's…

A highly functional device with no premium price tag.

After browsing and searching for the best deals on USB-C hubs, this cake takes 13-1 seconds. It's metal, not plastic. The variety of connections available really drew me here. Type-C (PD and data), Ethernet, VGA, 3.5mm audio jack, 5 USB ports (2x 3.0 + 3x 2.0) and 2 SD slots (Micro + regular SD slot) all on one pigtail. The versatility here covers 90% of what most people will interact with. This provides enough power for the MacbookPro and allows me to still leave my case on. Path. It still fits in my hand for easy carrying and easy to pack in my travel bag. I can't speak to the durability of this unit but based on the reviews I have read and the quality I see ahead I see many years ahead with this unit. and at the purchase price it does a simple thing. Most people pay a higher price than cheaper devices so they last longer, and this is no exception. How cheap you can buy a USB-C hub isn't, but it's a tough one depending on what kind of connections you want. I was looking for 8-1 for…
