This cable comes up when you search for "surge protection", but it really isn't. I didn't notice it until I reread the entire description and found where it was mentioned. All in all, it's a good quick fix for fast multi-device charging, but useless in the long run if you need to protect gaming systems/computers etc. We'll have it ready if we need a short-term fix, but we'll still need to buy a surge protector cable.

I bought this specifically to plug my power strip into it. My current power strip powers my laptop and multiple monitors. But the current extension plugs into the wall and blocks my desk drawer from opening. This extension fits my needs perfectly as it doesn't protrude far enough to block my desk drawer.
