Great tool for tools and gear

I don't use this tool very often but if you need to hold the flywheel to remove the balancer this works great. Fits perfectly. difficult conditions.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Almost never

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Two screws and crankshaft fixed.

I used this while working on LS2 (L77) and it's easy to use. I took the engine out of the car but it looks like it can be used in the car with or without the engine.

Pros
  • Solid surface
Cons
  • Not sure

Pictures are misleading

Pictures do not show how it actually fits. it's busy but it did the job. I'm not sure I would trust him again. The teeth should be closer. But that's not much. Guess that's to be expected for the price.

Pros
  • One year probationary period
Cons
  • Not reliable

Works best in the Tools & Equipment section

Used on the 2006 GTO LS2 to hold the flywheel when the Harmonic Balancer is removed and reinstalled. Went like clockwork. Screwed directly into the starter and slipped directly into the teeth of the flywheel. Worth the price.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Great tool! - Tools and Equipment

Helped me a lot when I needed to replace the Harmonic Balancer on my '06 Silverado. Took me about 10 minutes to pull the starter and use this good tool. It costs money and time if you don't want to try to hold the flywheel with a crowbar.

Pros
  • Several Competitors
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Good value for money. No guesses.

The tool is very sturdy and well made. Once it's in place I know the flywheel is stuck and there's no reason to hesitate in removing and installing the harmonic balancer. This greatly simplified the R&R Harmonic Balancer. It costs money.

Pros
  • Highly rated by testers for support and durability
Cons
  • General Information

Does what it's supposed to do

This is a very functional product that does exactly what it's supposed to do. I think it might be a little off spec which makes you think it won't work. This allowed me to easily remove the balancer. Would I buy it again, yes, but hopefully I won't have to.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Almost everything ok

Love it, love it for power tools

Durable and reliable tool If you're trying to keep the crank and cam in sync with this $14 tool, it's worth every penny. I completely rebuilt my '07 Silverado 5.3 in my driveway, with no drums and no garage. You just have to press it firmly and don't overtighten. It may take a minute to fit between your teeth and you don't need 2 people either.

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • So far so good
