Chemical Guys SPI22016 Protectant Fluid_Ounces Review

bought in December. I left it on the kitchen table until this week 20190311. I had to leave it on the kitchen table. Claimed as an all-purpose cleaner. Dash, plastic, tech, etc. Well I wiped the dash and then I wiped some plastic and tech screen. Well, at least it smelled good. After it dried the next day and the sun fell on it, everything was left with a shiny film. I had to post-clean what this product cleaned. This is my rating.

Cleans some stains and areas that have not been rubbed with dirt for a long time. I tried cleaning the tonneau cover but nothing happened. The soft top is 10 years old and has never been cleaned, mostly just folded in the boot of a convertible. I couldn't see the old dirt coming off no matter how hard I rubbed and didn't let it in. Finally used detergent and hot water and I saw the gray dirt come off. Use this product on new surfaces and you should be fine.

I detail cars and first used it on a dashboard of a Dodge Dart 15. The owner has never cleaned this dashboard and was a smoker, hence the dials and trim covered with dust and ashes. It literally worked the entire dash and left no streaks or product. Stressed none of the different materials. Even used on the dashboard with no problems. He dug into all the obscurantism and was able to remove it with a simple wipe with a microfiber cloth.

I was so excited to try this I used it shortly after delivery. I also bought their microfiber applicators and leather cleaning kit. I was very disappointed using their spongy microfiber product with this "Total Interior" product. It was very streaky. I didn't even want to try them on my windows. Looked great on my dash when I washed it. But once it dried, there was lint everywhere. Also, I couldn't delete my navigation. Works great as a cleaner. In car doors and cup holders. I love Chemical Guys products and have gone back and forth with this and other auto interior sprays. I chose this one because it claims it can be used on glass as well as other surfaces. It's just not true. When used on glass it leaves a HORRIBLE haze that is quite difficult to remove other than simply removing the windshield. As you can see from the photos, it worked well on other surfaces, but my rear window is so blurry I can barely see anything. The sun is just right and it's TERRIBLE…

On a new machine it does a decent job. If you have something very dirty I would switch to a super car cleaner and then apply 303 UV protectant to the dash and trim or 303 or Trinova fabric protector to your seats for protection after cleaning with car types. It cleans everything in the car decently, but not the best at some things. I like that it can be placed on an LCD where you would normally have to use another screen/glass cleaner.
