These plaques definitely show plaque and my kids use them once a week to show me how well they brush their teeth. Dark spots show old plaque, while light pink spots show new plaque or food debris. As others have said the tablets did not come in the original manufacturers packaging. It was just a few sheets wrapped in polythene. I've tried them anyway and not sure if they work as advertised. The aroma was grapey with a normal taste. The color was purple rather than two tone which made me unsure if they were real. However, they have shown areas that need cleaning and that is enough.
