Yes, they taste like purple color. Yes, they can stain your sink. BUT THEY WORK. Under adult supervision, they work exactly as they should. If you're worried about them messing up your sink, have your child spit in a trash can or go outside. I have no problem with them staining my kids teeth. We usually use them once a week or at least once a month just to see if there are any missing seats.
