Nice soldering iron temperature controller, after a small repair!

This soldering iron temperature controller works great. I would give it 5 stars BUT the hot and neutral wires going to the outlet have been connected BACK (as shown in the attached photo). This is an easy fix for those who bought the product. since they probably already know how to solder. Just swap the two white wires soldered to the socket and you're done! :)

REQUIRED for soldering jewelry!

I bought this product because I had trouble keeping soldering irons warm. Heat consistency is a must when soldering glass jewelry; Otherwise the solder will look (and feel) rough and uneven. This rheostat works like a charm! My only regret is that I didn't buy it sooner. This has greatly affected the quality of my soldered jewelry. It also saves me time because I get near-perfect results the first time without having to redo my work. This is a great addition to my tool collection! Highly…

works but outlet is not properly connected

As another reviewer mentioned, the polarity of the controller outputs is reversed. I only checked because I read this review. The reality is that most soldering irons have two-pronged ungrounded plugs, so it probably doesn't matter much. But since my soldering iron was handy I went ahead and fixed it. Swapped two white wires and that's it. Literally a 5 minute fix. Otherwise the controller basically works. Since this is a simple rheostat and not a temperature controller, finding a middle ground
