One of the two metal cables is deformed. The metal strands are damaged 1/2 inch down the center of the cable. The defect is large enough to cause additional friction within the cable jacket, likely affecting the brake cable's ease of movement or prematurely wearing out the jacket. All other components in the package were without defects and of good quality.

The product is disappointing. First, the internal cables are not Teflon coated. For what they are, the internal cables are fine. I really hope it's stainless steel. The cable bag is also disappointing. It feels light, cheaply made and the logos are eye-catching. I'm not sure how they can use the JAGWIRE branding. Not worth sending back but I would happily buy a well known brand even if it costs more.

If you're having trouble with the shift cable, you may need to replace both the housing and the cables. This kit provides proper body and wiring material for a 29" large frame mountain bike. All parts are included if you are starting from scratch or just want to replace all the old stuff. There are no instructions so be sure to use the long one Cable for the rear derailleur because the short cable is missing.

Gear cables were needed for the restoration of an old bike. I like that there is a color choice for the case. I've never done this before, but I managed to get the job done.
