There really aren't enough nails to break through a block of concrete. I replaced the nails with longer concrete nails of the same thickness and it works.

This is just great if you have cinder block walls in your dorm. If you need to install them in drywall I would suggest using 2 of these. The holes they leave are much less noticeable than nail holes, but if you have cast it won't work.

Easy installation in the concrete walls of my apartment. I hung about 5 pounds of pictures on it and two of them broke after a few months and the pictures fell off the walls. I would recommend doubling them up just to be on the safe side (which I did after they broke and worked fine).

Cheap plastic that breaks easily. I was very careful and only hammered the top part where the metal tips are, avoiding the hook part. It didn't matter, the plastic hook broke every time I tried a new one. I have used this type of hook from another manufacturer before without this problem.

They are great for hanging items on concrete or plaster walls, indoors or outdoors. I have used them to hang lights on our stucco house outside with no damage. Also great for drywall as they won't cause large holes or damage. Each "nail" is more like a pinhole - not easy to spot and easy to paint over once removed. Ideal for renting a house or apartment as you can hang items without damaging them.
