excellent Tivo wired network adapter

This is a USB 1.1 to Ethernet adapter that works well with the Tivo Series 2. I'm using it with an old wireless router configured as a bridge to replace a wireless adapter that wasn't working reliably. The Series 2 tivo has a USB 1.1 connector and does not use USB 2.0, eliminating the need for a faster adapter. the device was easy to set up.

  • Great selection

Old hardware but worked for the old TiVo

After the wireless adapter we used with the old TiVo expired, we're in touch. This network adapter did it. TiVo recognized it immediately, got an IP address via DHCP, and we were up and running again. It was a bit strange to see a 3.5 inch driver disk for Windows 98 included, but we didn't need any drivers.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than others

Exactly what we needed! Get Tivo Series 2.

Exactly what you need! You have a Tivo Series 2 DVR and are moving from a landline phone to the Internet. Our Tivo device only has a USB input, and with this device we were able to run an ethernet cable from the wall/router to the Cisco Linksys device and then the USB cable on the other end directly into the USB input on the connect tivo. Just go to your tivo settings, phone/network and choose the network connection. Works great and is more reliable than a landline connection.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

WORKS WITH MY TIVO (Series 2)!

Taken out of the box, plugged into the USB port on the back of my Humax DRT-800 (Series 2) Tivo and BAM - it worked! No fuss, no fuss. Incidentally, I have an Apple Airport Extreme home network using a D-Link Powerline AV network adapter kit (DHP-307AV) that I bought here at Revain for less than $40. Since I got this Tivo for free from a friend (with a LIFETIME subscription), I think it's a great solution to get online quickly for a total investment of just over $50.

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • Don't remember

Great for work

I bought this antique a few months ago and have already used it twice to troubleshoot. Since it's well supported by every Linux and Windows I've tried, I was able to get two different laptops online long enough for the drivers for their built-in Ethernet and WiFi adapters to work. It would also be useful to add an additional adapter to the computer to act as a bridge or perform other network activities. The driver disk was a nice touch. I'm not sure if my son has ever seen it.

Pros
  • Beautiful packaging
Cons
  • No paint required
