Really good phone for the visually impaired!

The phone was bought as a gift for my visually impaired mother. She is very happy with the phone. Before the purchase, she could not use the phone. She particularly likes the large talking pushbuttons, the high volume and the 3 programmable emergency call buttons on the top. She also likes the size of the phone. She would highly recommend this phone for the visually impaired and blind.

Pros
  • Good cause
Cons
  • Compatibility

Scrap is the best office electronics

This brand new phone is made like a piece of scrap. No beep when picking up the handset. You must click on the charging dock to get a beep to connect. (Yes, I have confirmed that the cable works with another device.) It is not possible to use other functions because the phone does not even work as a regular phone. Bad cheap design. Certainly not a reliable phone for a person with a disability. Would never recommend this device. I will be happy to come back.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Can cause damage

The volume and tone controls are conveniently located and easy to use.

Volume and tone controls are conveniently located for visually impaired users and large dial pads work as intended. We constantly had problems with the voice quality on outgoing calls. If the handset is held just right, the speaker's voice will degrade in quality and volume very quickly, making the phone more difficult to use than it seems reasonable.

Pros
  • 1 year trial
Cons
  • Some bugs

Big Button Phone Clarity Amplified JV-35

Ordered this phone for an elderly parent. It seems to work. There's no dial light and, as far as we can tell, no hands-free calling. We are satisfied - the device seems solid enough. We were just looking for a basic phone with good gain and this seems to do the trick adequately. Our parents can't handle many bells and whistles, so this works well for them. Programming multiple phone numbers has proven useful for her - now she just presses one number to dial her favorite phone numbers.
