I had a bundle of woolen and patched socks. They are warm and toasty but in less than a month a 1/2 hole has formed in the heel of the left foot. They were washed after each wear, worn with well-fitting shoes, and only worn twice outside the home. There's no excuse for such a big hole so quickly when they're so expensive.

So nice to find these socks at Revain. I have been wearing them in winter for many years as they are thick, comfortable and keep my feet warm. Now they are hard to find so I will be ordering more soon. A pair won't be enough when it's snowing and the boots are going to be worn for months. Well stitched and the bodice doesn't fit which is a real plus for me and I highly recommend.

As mentioned, order a size or two up. I wear men's shoes in size 9.5 or 10 and ordered socks in size XL, which fit well after washing. I wear them over gym socks around the house to keep my feet warm in the winter. For this purpose I like the XL size and crew length. If I want to wear them separately with boots I would order size L.

As another reviewer noted, these socks are not as green as the product image shows. They are more brown/light brown. I will probably order more, they are neutral enough to go with many casual outfits. They are thicker than expected but perfect for winter. I sent them back because of a seam on my toes. Turn them inside out (first and third photos) and you'll be alarmed, but moderately comfortable. Wearing them "facing out" (second photo) looks better, but can cause blisters. I recently moved to Connecticut from Fort Lauderdale and as you can imagine my winter wardrobe was almost empty. This is a wool sock that is durable and definitely warm to the touch. However, the top band of the sock is quite tight, even after a few wears.
