Necessary sewing tools

Now I have two of them - white and blue. I've been sewing for about 9 years now and regret not having owned them from the start. They mark fabrics much more accurately than tailor's chalk or pencils. Traces are easy to clean or wash off. This is a MUST HAVE for any sewing kit!

Don't use it where it appears!

I have white Chaco eyeliner and I really like it. I thought blue would be good for lighter fabrics, but to my dismay I found that this blue didn't come out of the fabric! I'll save it and use it from time to time, but only when marking a seam line that doesn't show up outside of my project.

Finally happy. - Sewing Tools & Supplies

I've tried chalk pens, chalk pens, pens that disappear in heat, air and water. Mechanical chalk pen. I prefer to use a graphite pencil when it doesn't matter if the lines are visible. But for rows that shouldn't be displayed, use THIS element. Follows the edge of the rulers easily and precisely. Nice straight line that is a great line for accuracy. THIS IS MY marking tool after the pencil. I have it in white, blue and pink.

Can't brush it off

I already had the one with white chalk so thought blue would be useful. NO! I first used it on a quilt to mark quilting lines on my long arm. When I finished the first part I tried to shake it off. It didn't shake off. The client I quilted it for washed the comforter in cold water and dried it four times and the lines are still visible. I've tried emailing Clover twice. I haven't received an answer yet.

Please do not use blue!

I bought the blue one and have used it from time to time with no problem. However, I have never quilted with him. I just finished a baby blanket and I can't get the blue right (both the white Kona and the red pattern). I've washed it, soaked it in an oxygen purifier, soaked it in alcohol, rinsed it with a mixture of water and vinegar, and even went to the store to buy a Dawn (I read on the forum that this might help). Still no luck. The lines were also never heat set. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO…

Suitable for some applications

I bought this to mark quilting fabrics. It is suitable for marking lines that are not visible or for things that you will wash after sewing. I was hoping to use this to mark the lines of the quilt on the quilt. Since I prewash all fabric before quilting, I do not wash the finished quilt. In testing I found that I couldn't just brush the chalk off, and even dampening a cloth and wiping the chalked area with it didn't clean the chalk. It really came off when I actually put the marked fabric in…

Thats much better. Replacement parts are only about $5

I should have bought one of these a long time ago. I've been using a red plastic pen-shaped crayon holder with spare crayons for sharpening for a while, but they're more expensive and break so often I have to throw away half the crayon before I can use them. Thats much better. Replacement parts are only about $5, the line stays in place and doesn't fade like chalk pens, and if I drop it or roll it off the table it doesn't break because it's already powder! If you leave the cap on the end of the

Not suitable for official fabrics

I had a lot of trouble finding the right marking method to sew. I usually use purple fine-tipped pencils that fade in a few days. However, there are times when a purple pencil is not suitable. For example, they don't always disappear quickly enough on formal fabrics, and you really can't spray silk taffeta with water to remove stains. And for my students, these pens are useless because the grades will be gone when they return to their next weekly class. Instead, I usually use blue fabric…
