fits comfortably on finger

I ordered this for hand quilting which I have been doing for years without finding the right thimble for me. My search continues. This thimble is comfortable and holds my finger well, but I personally don't like using the tip of the thimble to push the needle. I was hoping that the rim around the top would allow me to use more sideshift (I use the bottom of the nail when not wearing a thimble). I will never be without this thimble!

I have large fingers and have always had trouble finding the right size. The metal ones always hurt my finger and I could only use them for a short time. I used leather and it didn't offer enough protection for my liking. I have tried hard plastic and both hurt my finger and after long use the needle went through the plastic. This thimble is made of silicone and fits comfortably on the finger without pinching or damaging it after long periods of manual quilting. In addition, the metal upper…

Comfort, fit and control.

I know not all people who sew use a thimble, but for those of us who do, good control and fit mean a lot. And fitting can become more difficult if you have fingers that change in size over time or as a result of training. The flexible walls of this thimble adapt to your own changes while remaining very comfortable.
