Coats Crochet South Cotton Thread Review

This is a classic crochet yarn, 100% cotton. So dark that I have to use it with bright light. I use steel hooks with this type of thread.

I have bought this product elsewhere in the past and am disappointed with South Maid as it is no longer dark purple. It now fades from white to a mid-tone purple. My old shade of purple was a light purple to a deep rich color. Hopefully Coats and Clarks, South Maid's crochet yarns, will return to deeper colors in the future.

I have done many crochet projects. I ordered a tablecloth pattern and it came with a size 10 spool of South Maid crochet thread. I found this thread to be stiff and also breaks very easily when working with it. I ordered 1 spool of this yarn to complete the table runner. When I finish this project, the rest of the thread will go to the trash. The thread is simply not of very good quality in terms of feel and appearance.
