False advertising, complete nonsense!

Lies, not what is advertised! This is absolutely no Rg8x. It's a strong steel core. The photo shows the core is solid and I scraped off a thin plate of copper. Wire Insulator - Hard Poly. The screen is also steel braided. Very big loss! There are no markings on the cable. The ends are not overmoulded, but as you can see, this is the cheapest way of screwing. Absolute rubbish!

Pros
  • Robust design
Cons
  • Little things

RG8X is fine, connectors are terrible

The coax was of acceptable quality, the connectors were not screwed onto the coax and not soldered. If you hang a cable on a connector before using cable ties to secure the cable, the cable will be pulled out of the connector. I had to replace both plugs to ensure a good connection on both sides. I was very disappointed. You'd better use an RG8 corrugated board or even an RG58 corrugated board. Sorry I hate writing bad reviews.

  • Certified

Ripped off: audio and video accessories

So I've had this coax cable for a few months and decided to use it on a vertical multiband antenna. I had a suspicion that this coaxial cable was behaving strangely. I had to cut off one end to thread through the wall into my ham. Guess what I found, copper clad steel core. The product was advertised as having a "stranded bare silver plated copper center conductor", not even close! I learned a good lesson about this since I no longer go back by date. I will buy ALL coax and ham radio items from

Pros
  • easy to read control panel

Not just for a good RX, maybe 75 ohms.

Test.Good.Good.8X connectors on both ends.------Poor: This is not quality, all copper strands contain metals, strong shielding. I can't use it over the old coax hi-SWR. When to put the old piece. All other 8X's I've tested don't have magnetic attraction?. After the 2nd roll I would not order anymore. .1st roll thought one needed a real pl 259. The wire was about 75 ohms and a mismatch in the overall RF transmission loss. You need copper with a stranded center wire, this is not the best option…

  • Excellent construction

Absolutely unnecessary coaxial cable: radio antennas

That was absolute junk! There are no markings on the coax. As soon as I open the box, the label says MADE IN CHINA. After checking the coaxial cable, it was definitely not copper stranded. You can bend it and it stays bent. Even the connector (PL259) was junk. Very, very light connector. You can twist the connector around the coaxial cable so it doesn't get soldered. The braid was not copper but some other silvery color and there was no way it wouldn't make a good shield. I didn't even open it.

Pros
  • Easy-to-read control panel
Cons
  • High price

You get what you pay for.

The box it came in had a big label saying MADE IN CHINA. There are NO labels on the outside of the cable to identify the cable type. It's extremely stiff and stays where you bend it, I doubt its conductors are solid copper rather than copper-plated steel. Another sign that these are NOT HARD COPPER conductors is that the DC resistance is too high and if you move the leads while measuring the resistance the readings will jump all over the place indicating that the solder joints are very are bad.

  • Weight
Cons
  • Some small things

When listing, it should be pointed out that this is a hard core! Great coax!

This is an amazing RG8X coaxial cable! To my surprise, the coaxial cable was stiff, but in fact I found a solid copper center conductor! I cut off 5 feet to make some braids to make this opening. Even under a great jacket was AT LEAST 99% braided shield! But that's not all. Over the central dialectic 100% aluminum cover! Wow! This is a GREAT article! I look forward to buying more from this seller as the price matches such excellent quality. As soon as I can I will test the coax with my NanoVNA…
