Too Hot To Touch: Kitchen & Dining

I should have posted this earlier to avoid customers wasting money on this item, but better late than never. The worst thing about this kettle is that the handle gets hot. Too hot to touch and if you do you will burn yourself. Why would anyone make a teapot with a handle you can't touch? You need to find a hot pillow or get burned. The next time I washed off the grease, the color disappeared where I was trying to remove the grease. Now all I have is a kettle that's too hot to hold and my eyes…

Pros
  • Cookware
Cons
  • Infinitely Sluggish

Inexpensive as the price suggests

Nice, the lid came off in transit and scratched the red enamel on one side. It's very cheaply made - the metal is very, very thin and the lid is very loose. The kettle makes an amazing noise as the water heats up, but doesn't whistle. It just belches like it's purring like a smoking dragon. I only needed a kettle for a month while I'm moving so I bought this one. I hope it lasts that long (did I mention the metal is really thin?!). If you can afford to pay more or need a longer life this is not

Rusts easily, terrible quality

I bought this kettle because our very old kettle ended up breaking (which we bought second hand and lasted for a VERY LONG TIME). After less than a month of use and only once every 3 days for boiling water for baby food, I saw that it was rusting on the inside edges. See attached pictures. This is unacceptable, unhealthy and dangerous. Our old kettle was ancient and I don't even remember seeing the hallmark on it as it lasted so long. This new albeit inexpensive kettle has barely survived 5…

Pros
  • Home and Kitchen
Cons
  • Some bugs

Two for tea, tea for screw

Very thin lid, especially in general. The lid is awkward to remove, and the screw comes loose every time you need to remove or put the lid on. I learned this the hard way when I was about to pour water into a cup of tea and the little black plastic thing on top of it slipped off. The screw from the lid fell into the kettle and I had to wait for it to cool before removing it. You need to keep a screwdriver next to the honey and tea bags.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Will be added later

Beautiful design! suitable for teapots

We really like our new teapot. It's well designed and the handle mechanism and heat resistance is a real plus. That would have been 5 stars if it weren't for the lightweight construction of the bottom of the kettle. While light weight is a plus, it doesn't feel like something that will stand the test of time. We expect it to corrode fairly quickly. Luckily the price was right and I think we'll just have to replace it when it wears out.

Pros
  • The best in its niche
Cons
  • Expensive
