I always worry about itching with wool as a base layer (because I seem to take on other people's complaints), but this top fits like extra skin and I don't feel any irritation when I wear it. Perfect fit, might be a bit itchy when new. Just follow the care instructions. Merino wool needs to be washed and worn to fully soften the fibers. This particular top is no exception. There is color. Green. Not light green, but a little lighter. Since this is the base layer, it is covered by subsequent layers and is not usually visible.

When I first ordered this product I was very pleased to receive a Merino wool shirt at a good price. But everything in this layer is below average. Starting with the TERRIBLE smell of this shirt. I have no idea how it can smell like that, but it is. It really showed when I washed it for the first time. The whole room smelled. Second, the material is very thin and feels incredibly fragile. Worn about a dozen times and then washed and the seam came undone in the wash. Not very well done. Very disappointed with the quality. It keeps me warm, but what's the use if it's not enough for a wash.
