🧵 Enhanced Fiber Blending Tools by Colonial Needle Review

When mixed with certain types of wool, colors tend to form knots in the mix. Since the knots are solid color and not blended like the rest, I have to go through and select them before I can use the blended fiber. One of the brushes arrived in the mail with bent teeth. I don't know if this is damage in transit or if they were like this before being boxed. However, none of the pins bent while I was using them.

As other reviewers have noted, they are a bit small, with blades measuring about 1.5" x 2", and the surface area on which the needle teeth sit is smaller. I bought these to mix two colors of Michaels Wollrovings. They work really well, and it's best to mix the colors in small batches to really "comb" the fibers, otherwise you'll end up with just one big blob. When I recently started needle felting I realized I needed this tool to easily blend wool fibers. It does the job adequately, but they are very small. The actual mixing area is 1 inch by 2 inches; The product description states that the product dimensions are 4 x 1.8 x 11 inches - this description is misleading - the overall length of one of the tools including the handle is 4-1/2 inches.
