Don't waste money!

Don't waste your money on this wick. No fuel is drawn, and as a result, the wick burns out and the fire goes out. I bought a wick in case we have a power outage, we have a backup light source in the house. But this wick is not working properly. Not sure how this product has so many good reviews unless they are fake they must have a better product than me.

Pros
  • Special offer
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

The price was good but you get what you pay for. The first thing that caught my eye was a thin cotton tube that had been flattened to a flat state. It works but doesn't draw oil/kerosene as efficiently as other wicks I've used. This causes the wick to burn faster and produce less light (less fuel to burn). Works in a pinch, but I pay a little more for a quality wick.

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Poor Performance - Home Decor Products

I bought these over 6 months ago when my previous wicking roller was running low. Recently opened a new batch and very disappointed. I let the wicks soak up the lamp oil for over an hour before lighting them. The flame burns nicely for the first few minutes, but then darkens. The wicks do not attract lamp oil to keep the light as it should. Now I have to find new wicks to replace, which is frustrating at best.

So glad I found her!

I found that all oil lamps, although they look the same, are not the same. In preparing the lamps for winter use, I had to replace some of the wicks. I only had 1" width on hand, some of my lamps took 3/4" and couldn't find anything smaller locally. These are just what I need and I like that they are long and can be cut to the right length. Thanks very much! Edited on 01/28/19. That's a bomb! They burn evenly, don't need trimming as often as the old ones, I'll be buying more.

CHAR CLOTH material for Fire Tinder kits!

First of all, this is a great deal. Two 6-foot rolls (12 feet total) with 3/4-inch wick for $5.00. And yes, it's a tube, but I really don't see much of a downside to using it in lamps. $2.50 for 6 feet instead of a thick 8 inch wick at the same price or higher. But I bought this to make Char Cloth. So if you are browsing here and looking for a moisture wicking fabric to make charred fabric, seriously consider this one. โ‚ฌ5, keep it up. I'm impressed with my results and I charred everything. Andโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Too long a wait
