I used this to repair my Brother HL-2270DW printer. It stopped collecting paper and gave an error. If you pull the little plastic tab inwards, it works again. After some research on the internet I found this part as a replacement. Super easy to change. The left side of the printer simply detaches, then remove the servo with a small clip. Then the part comes out immediately and the new one fits into its place. Just be careful not to break the tab when you put it back in place. If you want to see

I wish I knew this detail before ordering a new pickup roll kit, although I don't think it would hurt in the long run. Replacing this part is a lot more difficult than just the rollers, but quite easy if you have a screwdriver.
