Understand, this is a technical item that cannot be worn around town without attracting attention. I don't know how well it reflects heat since I returned the item. It was too shiny and plastic for me. I think it could just be worn on the trail or while fishing. As people will understand, you wear gym clothes. The upper is reminiscent of a disco suit from the 70s. The inside was soft and comfortable. So if previous reviewers say it's brilliant, it's definitely true.

I did a lot of reading and experimenting through trial and error to determine the best clothes for running in the hot sun. Short sleeves are completely excluded. Handguard is too tight. A loose top with long sleeves is the right choice. I chose Columbia Men's Solar Chill 2.0. In addition to the relaxed fit and long sleeves, it has a reflective coating that reflects direct heat. Ideal!

Not This is the most fashionable shirt, but I use it to cut the lawn on sunny days. It keeps me very cool and protects from any sun exposure. Very nice shirt, just shiny.

I don't really like the "shiny" look, but since I'm the only one hiking in 45 degree dry heat, who cares? Seriously, I've tried various shirts that claim to keep you cool, but this one seems to be the most effective at blocking out the hot sun and UV rays. Keeps the upper body relatively cool and protects against sunburn. Got Cool Gray which is more of a whitish which is perfect for me. You can get the color of copper ore to match the Arizona theme.

I had no idea this fabric was so shiny and weird. definitely not a casual shirt to wear. It looks high quality and stylish if the shirts weren't for a shiny look. The size was perfect. It definitely has a use.

The plus size was very loose for me, I usually wear the large ones from Colombia, but this shirt is very loose and it is BRILLIANT.
