Description of Competition Cams 12 433 8 XE288HR 10 Camshaft

Street/strip applications, 9:1 compression, rough idle intake, headers, 2800+ stall, gears. 2,500-6,000 RPM Operating Range. 236/242 Duration at .050". 110 Degree Lobe Separation Angle. .520"/.540" Valve Lift. Excellent performance in street carbureted applications. More vacuum allows an increase in duration for improved performance and assists power brakes. Quicker opening lobe profiles deliver increased responsiveness and more area under the lift curve. Best performance with aftermarket intake manifolds, headers and lower gear ratios. Fits Chevrolet GEN 1 Small Blocks including the 262, 265, 267, 283, 302, 305, 307, 327, 350 and 400. Does not fit LT1/LT4, or factory roller Small Blocks built from 1985 and newer. Made in USA.

Complete Parts Kit

Great Complete Kit! I like it when the valve springs match the camshaft. It even comes with a cam button - you have to control the cam endgame with roller cams. As soon as I install it, it updates with vacuum and idle properties. Comp Cams says that the 2800-6100 rpm range requires a 3000 rpm converter.

Pros
  • Made in USA
Cons
  • Unreliable

Excellent fuel economy and tractor feel Hotrod

Excellent idle, extremely responsive on sbc 350 with darts and air gap elbow, Edelbrock 1806 also has ultra aluminum rockers for farm trucks towing a loaded 24' x 8' heavy cargo trailer. Run the recommended max C/R and a really good cooling system because it gets hot! I have two 10" Spal weights on the grip crossflow and it's not enough.

Pros
  • Road/Trail use, 9:1 compression ratio, rough idle, headers, 2800+ stop, gears.
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
