I used the red connectors. Spliced a 22 AWG wire and a 18 AWG wire. The 22 gauge was marine wire, the 18 gauge was low voltage 12V O2 free stranded wire. Crimp was satisfactory, but the heat shrink would not seal properly on the 22 gauge wire. The 18 gauge was tolerable. Used a commercial heat gun. Well I didn't hang anything anything from these or yank the wires hard to test them. But I did give a pull on each side before applying the heat shrink and wires stayed on just fine. I used these to splice an oxygen sensor connector to the wiring from the pcm/harness side of my car. (I had managed to quickly fry my old sensor connector when I replaced the O2 sensor but didn't secure it away from the exhaust. Lesson learned.). Talk about new school. Not more need for electrical tape that gets old these are water pruff once you heat shrink them. They work great in the snow and on my boat wi definitely buy over and over again for future jobs

These are good. They compare with more expensive domestic options. Inner barrels are well made so the wire doesn't snag on the way in. When you crimp them, they stay crimped. They shrank down tight enough against the matching sized wire jacket well enough for me to trust outside. For severe service (boat trailer, etc) I would put a layer of shrink tube over the butt connector anyway. Perfect for automotive use when exposed to the elements. The heat shrink ends "glue" themselves to the wire when shrunk with a small butane pocket torch to keep moisture out. Absolutely perfect for wet conditions. Not for submerged areas

I've used heat shrink connectors in the past, and based on my experience, these connectors take a little bit longer to shrink under heat than previous connectors I've used. Perhaps that means they are better quality or stronger than the ones I've used in the past, but I'm not sure.I really like the clear labeling on the connectors.
