Okay, this thing is solid and I'm sending it back immediately. That's just stupid market segmentation at worst. These guys seem to sell three adapters, one for 1080p and below, one for 4k (this one) And interestingly they make a third adapter, a headless GS. As far as I can tell it's just an Edid chip on the HDMI port. That's all. This particular adapter is advertised to support resolutions up to 4k with no issues.
