The hat is very warm. I have worn it in 20 degree weather and it is beautiful. The material is high quality and well sewn. The downside is that the Velcro chin strap is not tight enough to secure the hat to the face. I ended up threading the strap through the rectangular ring and folding it in half to hold the hat in place. This made it work well.

I tried this hat on and didn't want to take it off so I wore it all day yesterday. Imagine a warm hug on your head. It's snug, comfortable, warms my ears and temples (where a sinus infection starts), doesn't itch, and is comfortable to wear—whether in a wild Maine snowstorm like yesterday, on the ski slopes, or on snowshoes. or when it snows. and a shovel, just the perfect hat. Not too tight; not too loose, but reliable.

I agree with the reviewer that the chin strap is too long and poorly placed. Knowing I ordered it anyway and since I can sew, I plan to redo this part. It also has enough room for "long hair" and falls low enough on the forehead to stay warm. I'm a medium height woman with a ponytail that goes perfectly with a hat. I love the cozy fabric, the gray color and the pretty purple trim. Excellent winter hat after a little "treatment".

Many people will like this cap - well made with good material. I have a 22" head and the cap is a bit big - no problem. First I put on a skinny hat (bought from Revain) and a beanie over it and it fits very snugly - it keeps you warm. The other problem I had , was with the chin strap.
