I want to love Contigo water bottles but haven't had much luck with them. Everything I've ever bought either leaks or the locking feature breaks or gets stuck. One of them, my child, fell on the tiled floor and broke the bottle. I had to throw them away. The second just walked around the edge when sitting sideways or leaning forward at all. Read reviews on this and other bottles before ordering. Got it and put it in the dishwasher right away. Well cleaned, no damage. So far, so good. These are my favorite water bottles for my kids. I have four kids who bring bottled water to school every day and this is the best option I've found. They're durable, don't leak, and best of all, they're dishwasher safe! Top shelf only but at least I don't have to hand wash them. Who has time to hand wash 4 water bottles every day? Not me! I have tried glass models from this brand and they have not withstood my child's abuse for more than a couple of weeks, the metal models require hand washing

Design changed but I like it better. The straw is now assembled and screwed to the underside of the lid. The old design just used a straw that you put in a rubber grommet and sometimes it just popped off.
