Description of Continental ContiWinterContact TS 860S 255/55 R19 111 winter

Winter tire Continental ContiWinterContact TS 860 S SSR is designed for passenger cars of various classes. It is a modernized version of the model of the same name, differing from it in the possibility of operation in case of loss of internal pressure as a result of mechanical damage. It is characterized by high efficiency when braking on slippery surfaces, lateral grip on snow. RunFlat by Continental The letter S in the tire name indicates the presence in its design of the SSR system, which is the German manufacturer''s own version of the RunFlat system. It differs from ordinary tires in the voids in the sidewalls. They are filled with a special rubber-based reinforcement. When pressure is lost inside the tire, it prevents the sidewalls from folding, allowing you to reach your destination or service at a speed of no more than 80 km / h. Adaptable rubber compoundThis model uses the Cool Chili compound, which has repeatedly proven itself from the very best side. Its current version further improves the performance of the tread during longitudinal accelerations. The composition of the rubber compound includes special polymers. Acting at the molecular level, they change the elasticity of the tread, increasing it during longitudinal accelerations and decreasing it during uniform movement. The result is exceptional traction stability in all road conditions. Reduced braking distance on ice The tire uses Liquid Layer Drainage technology. Its essence lies in optimizing the configuration of both the drainage grooves themselves and their location. This allows you to organize the fastest possible removal of water from under the tire. First, vertical sipes collect and direct it into the nearby grooves, and then it is brought out of the tread through drainage elements in the central part and shoulder areas. At the same time, the height of the edges formed by the lamellas is large enough for them to penetrate through the water film formed on the ice surface. As a result, the tire not only has a dry contact patch, but also the ability to catch on even the smallest bumps. Lateral traction on snowThis model also features Snow Curve+ technology. These are 3D lamellas, which work as a whole within one tread block. They not only form numerous gripping edges, but also use them to compact and hold the snow, thus preventing, above all, lateral slips. The effect is greatly enhanced, since only in the contact zone with the road there are about 1 thousand such lamellae. The main features of the Continental ContiWinterContact TS 860 S are a modernized version of the model of the same name with the RunFlat system; special voids in the sidewalls are filled with a rubber-based reinforcement that allows the use of a damaged tire; rubber compound that can change elasticity depending on the driving mode; optimized sipe system and drainage grooves improves grip

Great quality, happy with it one hundred percent!

Pros: 225/40 19 + 255/35 19. I use the second season on an all-wheel drive car, 450 forces, the distribution of torque is 30 to 70 in favor of the rear axle, the driving style is aggressive, sometimes sideways)) Wear for the first season is minimal. Slush / water / packed and deep snow - ideal, there are questions on the ice, but that's what Velcro is for. Before that, I drove a Pirelli Sottozero 3, Kontik is definitely better Different cons: Price, but the price is high now for all rubber from

Great quality, happy with it one hundred percent!

No comments. I am satisfied with the tire, I drive dynamically and when installing this tire, I did not have to change my driving style

Pros
  • - excellent handling at high speeds - silence in motion - low rolling - excellent handling on snow and ice
Cons
  • - poor grip when starting on wet pavement at low temperatures

Exactly as promised by the manufacturer, high quality.

Took for Porsche Macan turbo 21R, operation in Hong Kong and Hong Kong Region, aggressive driving style, mileage 70% highway and 30% city. As I changed my shoes, I didn’t notice the difference between summer tires, the car rulits perfectly, accelerates. It gets up water well, there are no complaints about braking qualities either. At the moment I am satisfied with the set and consider this tire one of the best on the market, ideal for the Hong Kong winter. Before that, there was an experience…

Pros
  • Handling, no noise, sufficiently deep tread, nice appearance
Cons
  • It was not revealed because the service life was only 3 months and there were no severe frosts during this time, the question of strength is open because it did not fall into strong pits, wear resistance was also not determined for 8 t. Km.

The winter of 20-21 has passed. It was full of different weather conditions, which gave us the opportunity to test our winter wheels and cars to the maximum. I will try to clearly express my opinion and help others in their choice. Before this model, there was Velcro from another manufacturer. She set a high bar for quality and at the time of the search she was not on sale. Therefore, Continental had strict requirements. Continental did not cause trouble for tire workers. Dressed on the disk…

Pros
  • Appearance, handling, lack of noise. Ideal for all wheel drive vehicles
Cons
  • Now what I didn't like and why not 5 stars. First, the price. She is clearly overpriced. For this price there should be no nuances, but they are. I was driving through a huge empty parking lot. Due to a sharp change in temperature, an ice rink formed there. Continental simply did not want to stop the car, and my speed was no more than 20 km / h. My old Velcro after 80 t. Km much better clung to everything, just to stop the car. Ice is not about Continental Velcro. There's just a gap here. It was snowing a lot. I was driving 80 km/h. It was necessary to move off the track, and I just flew off the exit. What it was from Continental, I don't know. The car just didn't stop. Maybe the protector is clogged? HZ Thirdly, the Protector is not toothy. She seems to be shoveling snow, but she does not push the car. Auto stupidly digs in and lie down on the belly. Fourthly, in a heavy snowfall or on an easy rise in a front-wheel drive car, you will start moving, but from behind you will definitely be honked like: dude, why so slow ! Would I buy it again? Perhaps . but at a price of no more than 8k per balloon 235/45 R18

Four-wheel drive 225/45r18 + 255/40/r18. Runflat. For the city - a super option. Quiet and comfortable, even on a runflat there is no furious effect when driving over bumps. Excellent grip on the pavement, no hint of slip. But on ice - he passes (however, like other stickies). The main trouble is not to get out of the icy rut that occurs after the thaw in the yards.

Pros
  • Comfort and silence. Excellent grip on pavement, predictable behavior on snow
Cons
  • Do not get out of the small ice ruts that are in the yards

Best thing I have ever used, highly recommended!

Great tires! For me, this is the best combination of price and quality. Before that, there was a Pirelli Scorpion Velcro. Tires are wide. So I'm tired after every season to change 2 rollers of the rear rubber (it ate the middle). You say the wheels are pumped? so no, with pressure everything is ok. Just such a "good rubber". In general, I recommend everyone to buy Continental

Pros
  • Quiet, manageable on any surface, the car "does not float." Snow, mud, rain - don't care, the car is moving
Cons
  • Didn't find any cons during the season.

Great quality, did not expect at all for the price.

Bought in size 255/35 R19 without Run Flat. I decided to try a tire for a mild winter, because. I live in Hong Kong and there is little snow here. Actually, so far I haven’t had a chance to ride on snow and ice. It behaves very well on asphalt - active driving, including along mountain paths, does not cause the feeling that jelly is on wheels instead of wheels. Almost like in the summer, only a little softer. Exactly what I wanted. As I go through the snow, I will write my impressions.

Pros
  • Asphalt / wet asphalt, temperature from 0 to +9 - excellent reactions, decent grip, does not float. Quiet. For a winter tire, high speed index. Up to 200 no yaws - keeps the trajectory smoothly and naturally, faster - did not check. Does not create a feeling of heaviness, as it usually happens when changing shoes in the winter.
Cons
  • Price
