Great Value - Internals

Costs $10.54 even for the 4 to 1 cable alone and it has the same pinout as Startech but with nuts instead of screws huh more is typical for terminal/pin side.

Pros
  • Same as everything before
Cons
  • Trade in

no DSR line for serial port cards

Installed in Dell Optiplex 3050 SFF Win7Pro 64-bit. Device Manager reported that the drivers are working properly. The basic connection seemed to work, but later found that the status of the DSR line was not being transmitted. If your application needs to control the DSR line, avoid this card.

Pros
  • Handy thing
Cons
  • Can be damaged

Driver installation is tedious, support site is terrible

Pros: After installing the driver, the card works fine. Cons: You almost have to use a CD to install the driver. My new system doesn't have a DVD/CD drive - I haven't needed one in years. When I went to the website for the driver, the download list was confusing to say the least. Please note that I am a Cisco/Juniper Network Engineer with over 24 years of experience. I literally could not find a card model that is NOT listed on the box or on the card itself. So I borrowed an external DVD/CD and

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Only available in black

Works great in I/O port cards

Works great. Use it as a console for routers and switches. Download the driver from the company's website! The drivers from the CD do not work.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Reliability

Crest 4 Serial Port PCIe IO Card

This device failed miserably on my 64-bit Win 7 machine. It showed up once in Device Manager, then not at all. After a few hours of trial and error, I gave up and ordered a four-port (PCI) serial card from Star Tech, which worked right away.

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Upgradeable

I know he didn't say he supports Windows Server.

I know it didn't say it supports Windows Server 2008 R2 but figured it might work as most use Windows 7 drivers. My fault is what I think. Lost a star as it should support him!

Pros
  • 1 year trial
Cons
  • So far so good

Great product/price

This card fits my PC and is a great replacement for the PCI card in my old computer. As an update, the card failed after upgrading to Windows 10 for lack of a compatible driver.

Pros
  • Cool
Cons
  • Everything ok
