Usually works well with electric motors

Voltage is not transmitted until 7 on the dial which is probably typical. (120V) The maximum voltage at 120V input is about 110V output. You should probably plan on using a fan on this SCR if you haven't already. It gets pretty hot and I would be worried about the lifespan if it stays that hot all the time.

Pros
  • Electric motors
Cons
  • Very expensive

I used this voltage regulator to slow down a vacuum cleaner in a shop to carefully collect bees from a wild hive without damaging them. I could smoothly change the speed from fast to slow. I added a nylon mesh to keep the bees from getting stuck in the vacuum cleaner filter. This saved me from buying a $400 commercial vacuum.

Pros
  • Controller
Cons
  • High Price

Suitable for 2 phase heating element

I am using this to change the power of a 5500w 2 phase heating element. This works, but you probably want to change the potentiometer when it goes from 0V to 130V about halfway through the dial. Only one branch of the two-phase element should pass through the device, you can leave the communication line if you wish. Good deal at $20. It gets hot though, so I would suggest adding a fan to the heatsink.

Pros
  • Tools and household goods
Cons
  • Unsure
