We recently bought a new TV and it has no component or composite ports. HDMI only. I bought this as it was the cheapest I've seen and haven't had any issues so far. Plugs straight into the Wii and then I connected an HDMI cable (not included) to the adapter and then to the TV. It works as it should. I wouldn't say you're getting an insanely good video, but it works.

Everything about this product is exceptional. It works great and looks good, but it's not great if you're looking for the best picture, but it costs $7. You're better off getting a decent set of component cables for your Wii, and if your TV only has HDMI then get a good power adapter. component to hdmi converter. This is a great product as long as it works great but at first I thought I got a piece of crap for playing Ghouls 'n' Ghosts for the Genesis game I would stop at fractions of a second every few seconds, so I figured converting analog video to digital was just bad. When I tried the SNES emulator this didn't work so I figured it was the Genesis emulator. I've checked and changed some video settings and the problem is gone, now it works perfectly and has a very good picture with no noticeable blur
