Lid has steam vents to keep popcorn crisp; wooden handle and knob stays cool and is comfortable. Makes popcorn in a few minutes and is easy to pour; mixes kernels so they do not stick or burn. Aluminum for even heat distribution. Durable all metal gear. Works on gas, electric, glass, ceramic, not induction compatible.

Like Whirly Pop but cheaper

I have a Whirly Pop and it was bought as a gift. It is identical in construction to mine, only the embossing "Vortex Cotton" is missing on the lid.

Pretty good popcorn maker

A good deal for a kitchen popcorn maker considering the price. I've used it for two batches so far and it seems to get the job done better/quicker than my previous microwaveable brown paper bag. My only complaint is that the metal gear binds slightly, requiring me to turn the knob at a very constant slow speed. I hope it doesn't break!

Not Recommended - Small Appliances

I do not recommend this popcorn maker. The corn stirrer is a thin wire that doesn't reach the bottom of the pot to properly stir the corn. That's why the corn burns. Also, the pan is made of very thin aluminum that doesn't heat up well. I have had another similar popper for 15 years that has worked great. The stirrer was of better quality and the pan was heavier. I recommend spending more money and getting a better product. I will search further.
