I like it thin. Correl is of course known to us for this. As at least one other reviewer has pointed out, this is perfect for something that has a sauce and you are transporting. Maybe you're eating stew, Indian food, or spaghetti on the couch. It works better than a stove. Love it. If it's really loose, much deeper bowls will do. Much better than plates! I liked them so much that I bought another set. It's great when you have your dinner in front of the TV. They will also come in handy for serving meals to my son who is recovering from surgery and eating in his bed. They are not as thick and bulky as heavy ceramic noodle bowls. And of course, Corelle is very difficult to break. Unlike ceramic which is very dangerous if it breaks (I have seams from a broken ceramic bowl in a pot). I could see these interchangeable plates

I can use it for rice, pasta, salad, fries, nuts/fruit, even good to use instead of where a flat plate would normally be used, like a sandwich plus potato salad in a bowl (of course some fries can go with that too handle a disk).
