This timer helps me do short sprints to work throughout the day, but it also helps my 3 year old visualize time. So when I tell her she has 10 minutes of play left before bed, she can really see and start to understand how long it takes. Fabulous!

Helpful in teaching children to wait and be patient. I think my son will also become familiar with the concept of time. The numbers are relatively large, which helps him to read them well. However, I have found many other similar watches much cheaper than mine. If I had known that, I would have bought a different watch.

Flashing function is not important. The flash can be set to 3 or 60 seconds. It's a small red flash that's only bright when you're looking straight in your direction and very easy to miss. I was expecting a bright flash, similar to phones for the hearing impaired which produce a flash more in line with the flash used in photography. In addition, the accuracy of the timer is plus or minus 1 minute, which is to be expected from most non-digital timers.

The first product I received was DOA but the review/rating is based on a replacement that works perfectly. Cons: I hear a tick when the countdown starts; It's quiet enough for my use, but the product is called 'Silent Countdown Timer', which just isn't true. The light isn't very noticeable, I often miss it even though it's right under my computer monitor. Positive: It is intuitive to set up and you can see at a glance how much time is left.
