📷 CowboyStudio A-283 CLAMP: Versatile Camera and Flash Tripod Attachment with Ball Head Review

I needed something to mount my camera to the ring light as I bought the camera without a mount. I have a Nikon Coolpix P520 which is a bit heavier than average. The clamps work well and keep my camera stable. The rubber grips have a strong smell and adjusting the ball head after attaching the camera is a bit fiddly, but other than that it's pretty good.

Extremely firm clamping action and works great for my specific application. I am not using it for its intended purpose. I actually use a clamp to hold a 1W Wick Laser Arctic S3 and attach the threaded part to a tripod using the following adapter I found on eBay: 2 pc. Adapter for 1/4" female thread (just search for it, url is too long to post). I highly recommend using it as intended or modifying it to use the clip as a holder and not just a clip. Mic stand .

This is perfect for my specific use. I bought a Sennheiser G3 Lav wireless microphone and the transmitter has a hot shoe socket on the back. My Sony HandyCam doesn't have a hot shoe so I'm using the CowboyStudio A-283 Multi-Clamp instead and you can see how I'm using it in my picture. The clamp is actually larger than I thought it would be and the clamp is solid and holds the tripod very firmly. It's perfect and just what I need. I'm so glad I looked around because I don't know what else to do.
