Useful Strip Quilting Ruler

Works great. Sew 6-2 1/2 strips into a tube (3 on each side), line up with a ruler and cut. By rotating the ruler, you'll quickly get some nice quilt block variations. The sealed packaging contains basic simple instructions. Ruler size instructions. I already have my first quilted tie-dye top with this tool - done! Shipping in perfect condition.

Pros
  • Great tool, you can easily make accurate half-square triangles from 1" to 9.5"
Cons
  • Quick Instructions

Overpriced

I wanted to make a blanket and I needed one of these to make it. I winced at the prices but I ended up buying it. What can I say? It's a clear piece of plastic with markings on it. I see absolutely no reason for the high price. The only positive thing I can say is that someone managed to carve this out of a piece of plastic and put US numbers on it. However, as they say, the price is still too high.

Pros
  • Must be item
Cons
  • I will add later

Not the best method

Beware. Following the directions with straight fabric-width strips will give you offset edges on the outside of the half-square triangular blocks. They stretch out of shape and give you a very unsatisfying ceiling. Or you go to the trouble of cutting and sewing bias strips that are still difficult to manage. There are now many half square triangle rulers that will give you stable units in a straight line as it should be.

Pros
  • Great for use with strips and even includes instructions on how to make our favorite block
Cons
  • High price
