Yes it's hard to learn but my daughter picked it up quickly by learning from YouTube and friends. It really helps to see how it's done rather than reading instructions. My son loves it because it's blue. Colored frames make it easy to see what you're doing. You don't have to have it on a solid background like other loom manufacturers.

Item is fine except the loom instructions are missing. There are instructions included, but no instructions. I also ordered 2 and the sets are slightly different. It came with beads instead of an extra pack of ribbons. The other came with instructions. Disappointing as one was for us and the other was a gift. Bow! Must go back.

My 8 year old is obsessed with this loom. She loves it and spends hours making bracelets, necklaces and keychains out of it. She even makes decorations for her dolls out of it. If you buy two sets, the machines can be linked together to make longer or wider parts. I highly recommend it for kids 7 or 8+, but I don't recommend it for younger kids as it will be too heavy.

Got this at the request of my son whose friend was showing him how to make handmade rubber band bracelets on the bus. This piqued his interest and he wanted to do it on a loom. We recognized this and started forming groups. There was a design that the instructions weren't clear enough for me, so I supplemented the YouTube videos with some very tricky kids/teens and I was able to do it by looking at them. I bought it for my son and I liked it so much that I ended up buying it for myself.

This is a fake Rainbow Loom and it's not as easy for you to create more complex designs than a single bracelet. Racks do not have a top edge that prevents the straps from slipping. So as you create your design, you're constantly trying to grab the ribbon that just slipped down and frantically revive your design before it falls apart. All parts came as pictured, unfortunately we mainly use the rubber band set. It's a cheap plastic that's difficult to use, and because the loom color is pink, it's difficult to see the patterns in your elastics. We purchased a $10 clear plastic rainbow loom and metal tipped weaving needle, which is of the highest quality in every way. This is a gift, but the rainbow loom is more fun.
