Not as good as before but ok

Bought for a friend for Christmas although the quality is a lot worse than the craft counter I bought in the 90's which was smashed to crap but still works fine , it's only $20 and works well At the moment I'm not sure how it will hold up. Leads are cheap, stiff and not very sharp, I would use a different set of leads for fine work. But for basic car use I think it's a good buy.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Decent basic multimeter

good value meter. I hope this corresponds to the quality of the masters. It is intended for a home built counter and seems to work fine. A limitation; In my experience, Dura Cell batteries leak like crazy, destroying everything they contain. Lost the higher tier Craftsmen counter which was rarely used when the batteries leaked from the connector and the board and rotted. As a basic meter, you need to make sure you switch to the correct settings to be able to use it. No automatic adjustments.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Could have opted for a newer model

Good value for money in electrical engineering

I am a retired electrician. This multimeter is worth the money. The readings are stable, the dial makes a very strong click and the rubber pad allows you to withstand moderate bumps with ease. The wires are strong and the tips are covered until you need them for safety. on the market and more precisely, but no less than $20, and many in this price range need to be treated more kindly than on the job site where the tools need to be durable. Of course, for most electricians or home use, this isโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Probationary period for one year
Cons
  • Expensive

Not the same as the others - not the model I ordered.

This is an upgrade to a model I already have. This model has too many options for the different levels of measurement required for my needs. Works well but I'd rather use simpler variants of the earlier model. I keep it in every car along with my basic tools. I also need to strip some of the insulation off the ends of the wires - they don't go deep enough into the outlet to make contact so you can't see if the outlet is on or not. Generally not the best tool for simple jobs. Sometimes progressโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Speakerphone
Cons
  • Good but not great

READ BEFORE BUYING: Stops working properly after a few uses. . . DO NOT BUY!

Only used this DMM 3-4 times and now only vacuum works. In addition, the display constantly shows 1. I'm not happy at all with the previous return window. I do NOT recommend this product and am very disappointed with the quality. The Craftsman brand used to stand for something. . . no longer. Very disappointed. Edit 3/11/2020: I bought 5 of these for junior high school on 1/28/2020 and now I have 4 out of 5 not working and they all failed the same way (bad batch?) and unfortunately the returnโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Everything OK

Well made "consumption " multimeter

My first multimeter was a master similar to this model. It was much bigger (much bigger) with the same red rubber protection. I bought it about 17 years ago when I was going to college for my electrical engineering degree. Unfortunately I used it to test HID ballasts and completely forgot these things could handle 200+V and fried the handyman. I then bought a very nice Craftsman digital multimeter with a claw amp meter (looks like a lobster claw) that reads DC and AC voltage, which wasโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Dope ๐Ÿ”ฅ
Cons
  • Almost everything ok
