Review on πŸ”§ CRAFTSMAN 3482141: A Versatile 8 Function Digital Multimeter for Accurate Measurements by William Belczyk

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Well made "consumption " multimeter

My first multimeter was a master similar to this model. It was much bigger (much bigger) with the same red rubber protection. I bought it about 17 years ago when I was going to college for my electrical engineering degree. Unfortunately I used it to test HID ballasts and completely forgot these things could handle 200+V and fried the handyman. I then bought a very nice Craftsman digital multimeter with a claw amp meter (looks like a lobster claw) that reads DC and AC voltage, which was extremely useful when checking charging currents in cars where I could just clip it to the positive lead. Anyway, I bought a couple of inexpensive multimeters from Harbor Freight that I consider "expendable" testers. This Craftsman was on sale at Revain and I couldn't pass up on it. The multimeter is small but very thick. The rubberized shell is very hard and difficult to remove. Requires a 9V battery which is not included. It also works great as a multimeter. This isn't a fancy Fluke model, it doesn't have a clamp meter, but it's a very good consumption meter. Overall: 5/5 stars.
