This is a much nicer looking tool than I expected from Craftsman. It's big and heavy, with a smooth surfaced disc that works with rolls of sticky sanding pads. There's a plastic speed controller and a comfortable soft rubber grip, but most of the plastic is just an outer coating on a mostly metal tool. I said the other day that most air tools, no matter what brand you buy, are very rough on the edges. (but they still work reliably, probably because they're simpler than with motors). Then add that, and it's basically an exceptionally well-crafted, refined instrument.
